Project Management

Design Consultation

During the initial consultation the client and designer explore the ambitions and goals of the project. We will discuss your preferences and aversions in hand with uncovering exciting and unique creative possibilities. This dialogue will help us formulate a design and site-specific brief tailored to you.

A comprehensive assessment of the garden will ensure that our landscape designers can fashion a garden design brief that is optimally suited to both the client and the site. Accurate site data needs to be collected to ensure a smooth construction phase, saving both time and money. Site information such as site levels, boundary measurements, existing drainage, views, aspect, and important features that will impact on the design will need to be recorded accurately and inform the fee proposal. The in-depth fee proposal will give you, the client, a crystal clear view of the finished product and the process of getting there.

Garden Design

The design process is a complex interaction of intellect, intuition, reason, passion, experience, creativity, and play. Our design solutions are always in response to a unique requirement and are never the same. Armed with a deep understanding of the clients requirements our designers, aided by the knowledge of our in house horticulturalists, and landscapers, devise fully integrated design solutions. Reaching beyond the brief to deliver shared aspirations.

We start with experimental sketches and concepts, then gradually refine and distill these down into a cohesive vision, the garden master plan. The master plan is presented with accompanying mood boards, materials, and samples. On reviewing the plans with the client we can make alterations or additions. Once both client is happy with the master plan we will move onto the detailing of the garden and begin to draw up detailed planting plans.

Planting plans are an incredibly important part of any garden design whether in isolation or as part of a whole project. Our designers will spend a lot of time assessing the aspect and soil conditions in different parts of the site to ensure that the plants are selected not only to look fantastic but also to thrive in the right conditions.

Lighting plans are another important garden design feature and enble the garden to really come to life during the darker hours. The aim with garden lighting is to subtly illuminate your garden accentuating certain features of your garden and developing an entirely new atmosphere than that experienced during the daylight hours.

In addition to the garden master plan, we offer technical construction details for complex or bespoke elements that have been included in the garden design. These aid the build process and ensure that the technical elements of the project are constructed accurately, as per plan and to the high specification desired.
