RHS Wisley Surrey Gardens Christmas Glow Illuminations
Surrey gardens, RHS Wisley is a perennial favourite with the designers and gardeners at Graduate Landscapes, especially at this time of year when it hosts the annual spectacular Christmas Glow. Yes!, Glow is back for its third year, and this year it is promising to be even bigger, better and brighter.
Wisley’s famous Surrey gardens come alive after dusk with an amazing light show and clever sculptural design by Jigantics. Towering giant flowers and iconic Wisley’s trees have all been illuminated to create a magical botanical wonderland.
A fairy lit trail guides you around the popular features of Wisley Surrey RHS gardens, with more than 100 giant lights creating breath taking lighting displays including stunning tulips and lilies. Keep an eye out for new garden design features this year, Hoyas, an avenue of snowdrops and Seven Acres lake hosts floating installations of two colour toned waterlilies set against a magnificent backdrop of Japanese Pagoda. Partners of Glow, Smart Energy have installed interactive lights connected to smart meters around the garden to demonstrate the simplicity and advantages of using smart meters in our homes.
The Glasshouse is always a highlight at Glow every year, and this year it doesn’t disappoint. Illuminated in all its glory, the display theme this year, T’was the night before Christmas is based around an 1837 poem by Clement Clarke Moore ‘Visit from St Nicolas’. The scene is set in a magical Christmas woodland glade with all the beautiful festive colours and blooms of Poinsetta, ferns and red flowering azaleas. Take a look at the beautiful arts and crafts stockings hanging over the chimney adorned with presents and surrounded by 10 Christmas trees decorated by local school children.

If you need to do some last minute Christmas shopping, Wisley’s shops are all open late. The plant centre has a wide selection of plants and seeds to buy, whilst Wisley’s Christmas shops and gift shops are perfect to buy festive gifts and gourmet foods.
